Will BrinkGuide apps work on my older phone?

Why does my app take so long to load?
When you first launch your BrinkGuide app after installation a one-time content update will begin in order to process all of the latest venue data and store it locally to your device for future use. This helps to eliminate continual data requirements while you are travelling and optimizes the application for quick browsing. Although we do insist on this first-time update, you do have the option to skip it until a later time. To do so, click on the info button next to the progress bar, and you will presented with an option to fast forward and resume your update the next time you launch the app.
The time required for this update will depend on the strength of your data connection. For best results, we recommend you launch the app the first time with a solid WiFi connection in place.

Does my app update automatically?
Yes, BrinkGuide apps are set to automatically check for content updates every 45 days. If it has been 45 days or more since your last update, you will be prompted upon launch to allow one to begin. If you are using an Apple mobile device for your BrinkGuide app, you may further customize your content update options by reviewing your application preferences in your device's Settings app.

What does "Enable Auto-Updates" mean?
Content updates are run periodically from your device in order to provide the latest information for venues. Normally, BrinkGuide will notify you that your chosen frequency interval has passed since your last update and you will be asked to allow an update upon launch. By enabling auto-updates, you will no longer be prompted to begin this process. Rather, the update will automatically proceed upon launch at the scheduled interval.

I'm leaving on my trip soon and I want to download the latest information to my device. Can I force a content update?
If you are using the BrinkGuide on an Apple mobile device you can force an update by selecting "Every Run" as your update frequency in the Settings App on your device. Launching the app will then initiate an update, with or without a prompt, depending on your Auto-Enable Updates preference. If you prefer to do this update just once, you can close the app and return to settings again in order to select a different interval.

I just got to my destination but the app isn't showing my new location. What should I do?
Make sure your location services on your device are enabled. If you are prompted to give the app access to your current location, please allow it. If you continue to experience problems you can select the Target tab and press the refresh button. If all else fails, try rebooting your device.

What is the Target tab supposed to do?
When you are within 100 miles or 100 kilometers of your BrinkGuide destination, the Target tab will list, by category, the venues closest to your current location. The radius for each guide will vary slightly depending on the size and density of the region.
However, most will be within walking distance (between 0.5 miles and 0.5 miles).
